Description: 

Man in the machine is a course offered by Meridian Fire Training solutions that focuses on stabilizing incidents with heavy machinery involved. It is particularly applicable in the industrial and farm settings. This course highlights the immediate scene management and patient stabilization of incidents where an individual may have become entrapped, impaled, or otherwise injured. The key points of this training are to create a safe scene, identify and treat immediate life threats, and identify resources that will be needed to mitigate the incident. This course will not include best practices for removing patients from entrapments or impalements but rather focus on scene and patient stabilization.

This course begins in the classroom and finished with several scenarios that allow students to practice life saving techniques. It is important that students have a basic understanding of bleeding control and first aid prior to taking this class.

This is a fun class that will have members working as a team
